My name is Mynette Mallet, and I created Raniah’s Light Foundation from a place of deep pain, perseverance, and purpose.

I know what it’s like to have nowhere to turn. I was once homeless with four children, struggling to survive and determined not to depend on anyone. Eventually, I made the hardest but most powerful decision—I took my children to a shelter. That choice changed everything. It gave me a second chance, a place to rebuild, and a reason to believe that better days were possible.

This foundation is for the young people who feel lost, alone, or forgotten. I was once just like them. This is a place where they can feel safe, supported, and reminded that someone is always in their corner.

But on April 28, 2025, my world changed forever. My sons and I received the devastating news that my one and only daughter, Raniah, was called home to be with the Lord. She was just 18 years old.

This foundation carries her name and her light.

Her memory lives on through every life we touch. We are here to provide shelter, love, and new beginnings—for the youth who need someone to believe in them.

Because I was once where they are. And I made it through.
